About him
Observer of people. Wildlife enthusiast. Dog owner, Ronnie, a working Cocker Spaniel. Culturally and politically aware. Love most sports and active in them. Family man with 2 children and 3 grandchildren. Returned to acting in November 2025. Played and loved my role; I was Macduff, Thane of Fife, in Macbeth. It was a hit with our audiences! Just returned from delightful stay in Porthcurno, next to the Minack theatre. Would like to perform there. Swam in the icy waters of Pedn Vounder, Penzance Battery rocks, Sennen Cove, St Ives, Porthchapel and Perranuthnoe. Spent time at St Levan church cleaning headstones, finding wild flowers including wild garlic for them and gaining information from 2 graves for 2 lady friends back here in Worcestershire. Felt immense satisfaction in this task. Regarding the abundance of wild garlic, it was a tasty addition to my salads, flowers included! I don’t know how my breath smelt for a few days.
PS I am not a smoothie. I can be quite scruffy but I scrub up well for serious and formal occasions.
Of course, I ensure that I am well turned out when in female company and I believe that manners maketh a man.
If I see an attractive woman it can only be right to comment, “Your parents must be a beautiful couple”.
I enjoy a good film and miss a lot of the new releases for various reasons. Films I have watched more than once: "Rain Man", "Heat", "Four Weddings and a Funeral", "Notting Hill", "About a Boy", "Billy Elliott", "Collateral", “American Beauty”, "As good as it gets" et cetera. The last film that I watched was “The Bookshop”, not a recent one, with the lovely Emily Mortimer and the ever reliable Bill Nighy. I continued my relaxed pose when the credits came, thrilled by 2 revelations; Julie Christie was the narrator and the film makers thanked the writer, J P Donleavy, for his assistance. This lifted me even further, something like Van Morrison singing “I was lifted by the Lord” ! PS My muscles they are numbered and my style is obsolete!

I like the company of women more than men; I feel the former display more honesty in conversations and I do enjoy lively, stimulating conversation. I love it when women let their hair down and jump in the sea without checking the temperature! I hope the women I meet will appreciate my arms! My wife and I used to love the lyric by Leonard Cohen, "I'll never see such arms again in years of men to come". ( I know, it's not entirely accurate but you get the gist! )
I acknowledge that sexual attraction and the forces of sexual behaviour are the strongest on earth, greater than the power of Elon Musk's rockets into space. Why else do we survive as Homo sapiens?
