Very difficult to define, but here goes: In general it's more to do with attitudes/values than anything else; they define the essence of a person for me. Someone who is open-minded, tolerant, non-critical of other people's essentials ( and I don't just mean me, i mean everyone) e.g. their colour, looks, size, age, ability, sexual orientation....I find bigotry, prejudice, nastiness, cruelty, negative energy, controlling behaviour .....all very claustrophobic and debilitating to be around. Life can be such fun, but there's no need to be nasty towards others in the process right? One of life's great pleasures is being kind and considerate towards others who are different...or sometimes less fortunate than us.
Someone thoughtful, supportive, some interests in common, hopefully a bit of a romantic..even a shy/reserved one. Ideally vegetarian/vegan, as I find it very difficult to be regularly around the cooking of dead animals......at least be accepting of that as a moral/lifestyle choice for me. Oh and you must like good wine?....
Someone I can feel very passionately about, who makes me laugh in their own inimitable way. Someone I like to care for, who brings a smile to my face when I think of them, and who makes my heart beat faster when they come close.
I have no problem dealing with the fact that we all have histories, but it helps if you have the general desire to move forward,and to spend more time looking forward than back. A little bit of sadness doesn't bother me at all, shows a good heart. I don't expect perfection.
Someone who doesn't mind if I haven't yet decided what to do when I grow up, and might never do, and who gives me space to express myself on my journey, as I would do for them; life is one big learning experience, and to me that is such fun, especially with another big kid to learn with!
Essentially someone who really values me as I am, thinks I am special for some indefinable reason, and with whom I inevitably form a unique deep and lasting connection......
