About him
As a traveller, I divide my time between an apartment in the centre of Cheltenham, and a second home in Spain where most of the important events in my life have happened.
My early life was spent as a soldier and I have had the privilege to live in many countries where I have had the opportunity to hone my language skills and enjoy different cultures.
To keep fit, I visit the gym regularly and continue to enjoy hill-walking, skiing, sailing, and other active pursuits. Socially, I have friends of many different back-grounds and nationalities and enjoy, when in London, the wide cultural offerings of my favourite city. I also enjoy English country life, including hunting, shooting, polo, and racing.
Professionally, I have worked as a journalist for national newspapers and television and have also had a career as an international entrepreneur. I do have a highly-developed sense of humour and appreciate this very much in the opposite sex.
In appearance, I suppose I fit in the general box of "officer and gentleman". In England, I dress in a traditional way but in casual mode prefer to be more continental with the "senorito" look as it may be described in Spanish but possibly looking rather "louche" by English standards.
I have been balding for many years and have gone white at the temples but hope this may give an impression of being "distinguished". I do have all the kit for the London season (top hat and tails etc!) and have been invited often to perform walking services for ladies in need of an arm on these occasions.

From experience, I know that it is chemistry that is the unique element that binds the sexes and that opposites often attract. For this reason, it is impossible to be prescriptive.
However, I do have a taste for international ladies who are capable of mixing in any company, both at home and abroad, with grace and style. Also I appreciate independence combined with the qualities of kindness, empathy, and vivacity.
