A now-relatively-less-nomadic purposeful meanderer. Romantically optimistic. In both looks and outlook younger than my years.
A well-traveled Scot with a successful often high-level global career, but still grounded/down-to-earth and a do-er, managing forests projects in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Caribbean.
It's important to me to be having a go at things I'm passionate about. Things, whether micro or macro, that I feel make a difference and are worthwhile.
Have always tried to live in quirky places/buildings, and close to bodies of water - in the past right beside the mighty Mekong, the not so mighty Water of Leith, the Clyde and the Tiber. Currently have 2 bases - my Scottish one is right next to the sea.
I'm a bit of a foodie, enjoy cooking and chats about and over good food and drinks with friends. I like to read classical and contemporary fiction, watch indie films, edgy and quirky theatre and sports. The musical soundtrack to the past few decades of my life is eclectic, from opera through folk/traditional to alternative/'indie'...
I've kept fit, sporty (e.g. golf, badminton, tennis, cycling/mountain-biking, gym) and still an active participant...
