The cultural opportunities of the city appeal (when available!) but otherwise I am happier out of town!
I enjoy a variety of music from Lieder through opera (where my taste is wide from Handel through Wagner to Britten). I enjoy singing as an amateur (for example in opera chorus or miniscule roles); obviously I haven't been doing much of this in the last year, but I have enjoyed finding other things to do instead!
I enjoy making things and striving for perfection -- which covers a wide spectrum from making furniture through to repairing antique clocks and pocket watches.
I do not find myself drawn to many modern films, but do like some of the older classics, for example from the golden age of Hollywood.
The opposite side of me likes to be outside and far from urban areas and I particularly enjoy moderately challenging walking (but not technical climbing). I have enjoyed spending holidays in many of the US National Parks, walking and taking photographs.
More eccentrically perhaps, I have been known to enjoy church bell ringing and Scottish country dancing.
