About her
I am a lady who loves tradition, but also knows not to be constrained by convention. I am described as a friendly and successful female scientist, have a great sense of humor, and a sense of contributing professionally to the common good.
I like being in shape and exercising, collecting tonalist painters/paintings (ha ha--not collecting painters themselves), and having friends let me try out their hobbies (and vice versa). I travel all over the world, and try to mix in work and play when I am traveling. I love reading both fiction and non-fiction...DH Lawrence, George Eliot, Simone de Beauvoir, and am writing a novel in my spare time. I have two great sons, a great nanny, and three lazy cats to round out my house.

I am searching for someone for whom I can wear a dress on a night out, go skiing for the day together, or meet up for impromptu dinner dates. Ideally, you are close to my age, driven to make a difference, athletic, and unique. Fitness and activity are part of my life and mantra, and I don't want to date someone who doesn't feel the same way. In addition, family is very important to me, which at times requires amazing logistical skills to be at two places at nearly the same time!

Shared activities can be short trips around the area or Europe (there is a great two day walking tour along Coleridge Way in the UK, for example), BBQ in the backyard with friends and family, investigating but not controlling Sarte's "The Look" with each other (a little existentialist humor), playing backgammon over long conversations about everything and nothing, enjoying an intense connection with one another, going to a concert or musical, going out to dinner, reading the NY Times, or volunteering.
